Trump gets approval to expand Scottish golf course

EDINBURGH, Scotland (AP)—Donald Trump has received permission to expand aluxury golf resort he is building on a stretch of Scottish coast despite fierceopposition from residents.
The Aberdeenshire council voted Tuesday to allow Trump to develop an extra50 acres surrounding the proposed site if he can persuade the people livingthere to sell the land.
Resident Michael Forbes has been a vocal opponent of Trump’s plans to buildthe $1.6 billion golf course on a stretch of Scottish coast. Resident DavidMilne also says he will not sell his property to Trump.
Trump said he hopes to negotiate with the property owners.
