Pablo Martin wins Alfred Dunhill

MALELANE, South Africa (AP)—Spain’s Pablo Martin became the first player towin on the European tour as an amateur and professional, closing with a 3-under69 on Sunday for a one-stroke victory in the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
The 23-year-old Martin, the first amateur winner in European tour historywhen he took the 2007 Estoril Open de Portugal, had a 17-under 271 total on theLeopard Creek course. The former Oklahoma State star opened with rounds of 68,63 and 71.
South Africa’s Charl Schwartzel (68) finished a stroke back, and Denmark’sAnders Hansen (68) was third at 14 under.
The tournament, also sanctioned by the Sunshine Tour, openeds the Europeantour’s “2010” schedule. The tours will team again next week for the SouthAfrican Open.
