LaCrosse has big day on Futures Tour

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP)—Cindy LaCrosse won the Futures Tour’s season-endingPrice Chopper Tour Championship in a playoff Sunday and took the money title totop the 10 qualifiers for the 2011 LPGA Tour.
LaCrosse beat Jennifer Song with a par on the first hole of a playoff forher third victory of the year. The 23-year-old former Louisville star fromTampa, Fla., earned $16,800 to finish the season with $94,578.
“I’m so happy with the way the year went,” said LaCrosse, thedevelopmental tour’s player of the year. “I reached a lot of my goals that Iset at the beginning of the year. My goals for next season are to be up there incontention and have fun.”
Song, a two-time winner this season and the tour’s rookie of the year,finished second on the money list with $63,375.
“I’m flying in the air,” said Song, the former Southern California playerwho won the U.S. Women’s Amateur and U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links lastyear. “I’m so happy to be a member of the 2011 LPGA Tour. It’s definitely adream come true.”
Christine Song ($63,036) was third on the money list, followed by Jenny Shin($53,686), Gerina Mendoza ($53,408), Angela Oh ($50,156), Ryann O’Toole($45,806), Tiffany Joh ($41,451), Hannah Jun ($40,406) and Pornanong Phatlum($39,261).
LaCrosse and Jennifer Song closed with matching 2-under 69s to finish at5-under 208 on the Capital Hills at Albany course.
