Golf-Tension shows between Allenby and Kim in Matchplay semi (Reuters)

CASARES, Spain, Oct 31 (Reuters) – American Anthony Kimrenewed hostilities with Robert Allenby at the World MatchplayChampionship semi-finals on Saturday, with the Australianirritated his opponent did not concede any putts.

“I was definitely surprised at not being given a few puttsout there,” Allenby told reporters after the opening 18 holesfinished all square between them.

“I gave him a couple of four-footers. Maybe I’ll do the sameto him this afternoon.”

In matchplay, opponents normally give putts inside threefeet but Kim made Allenby putt out all morning.

Kim said: “I don’t think I made him putt any short putts,maybe a two and a half footer. But it had a lot of break. It’smatchplay.”

The duo met in the Presidents Cup singles earlier this monthwhen Allenby criticised the American for staying out late on theeve of their singles duel.

Although media reports suggested the pair had talks toresolve their disagreements, they hardly spoke to each otherduring the round on Saturday.
