Golf-Teenager Noh heads British Open qualifying line-up (Reuters)

SINGAPORE, March 9 (Reuters) – South Korean teenager NohSeung-yul will bid this week to follow his record-breakingvictory at the Malaysian Open by securing a place at the 150thanniversary British Open.
The 18-year-old, who became the youngest professional winnerof a European Tour event when he triumphed on Sunday, competesin 36-hole British Open international final qualifying (Asia) atSaujana Golf Club near Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday and Thursday.
“This victory opens up a lot of doors for me so I’ll seewhere it takes me,” Noh told reporters at the weekend.
Seventy-two players from 18 nations will compete for fourplaces in the third major championship of the season at the OldCourse, St Andrews from July 15-18.
Also in action at Saujana is Thai Kiradech Aphibarnrat whofinished third at the Malaysian Open, two strokes behind Noh.
The highest-ranked player in the field is world number 80Hiroyuki Fujita of Japan.
